A Texas multistate license may cover practice in Florida.
- Only if your Texas license is actually designated multistate — not every license from a compact state is. Check Nursys or the board.
- You must follow Florida's nurse practice act while practicing there.
- Restrictions or discipline can remove multistate privileges.
- Practice — including telehealth — generally occurs where the patient is located.
This explainer describes general compact rules. It does not grant, confirm or verify any authority to practice. Confirm with Texas board(opens in new tab) and Florida board(opens in new tab).
