CE Broker Reporting: Verify Your Florida Nursing Transcript
Applies to: RN, LPN/LVN, APRN · Sources checked 2026-11-03
Short answer
Florida uses CE Broker to track continuing-education compliance, but completing a course and seeing it correctly reflected in your record are separate events. Provider submissions can be delayed, held, rejected, or require additional identifying information. Check your own transcript and keep certificates even when a provider reports for you.
Understand the steps between completion and compliance
The reporting chain begins with completing the provider's credit requirements. The provider then needs sufficient identifying information to associate the activity with the correct professional record. A submission must reach the reporting system and be reflected in the appropriate account and renewal period. A promise to report does not mean that each of these steps has already occurred.
Before taking a course, ask whether the provider reports this particular activity for your Florida license type and what turnaround it advertises. Verify your name and license number in the provider profile, including any required profession designation. A typo or an outdated license entry can create a problem even when the educational activity itself is acceptable.
Review entries and requirement categories
Access your own CE Broker record rather than relying only on a completion email. Look for the course title, completion date, awarded hours, and the requirement category it satisfies. Confirm that the record concerns the correct license and renewal cycle. A course listed somewhere in an account is not necessarily evidence that every applicable requirement is complete.
Compare the transcript with the Florida Board of Nursing's instructions for your credential and renewal circumstances. General hours, required subjects, and any additional professional obligations should be reviewed separately. If a completion indicator or category looks wrong, investigate the underlying entries. Do not take extra courses solely to resolve a display issue until you understand whether the problem is missing education or missing documentation.
Investigate missing or unsuccessful reporting
First confirm that the course is truly complete in the provider's system, including any evaluation or certificate-release step. Then check that the provider has the correct license details and that its stated reporting window has passed. Ask whether the submission was sent, held for missing information, or returned with an error, and request a concrete next step.
If the provider confirms successful submission but the entry remains missing or incorrect, contact CE Broker support with the certificate and relevant details. Follow the system's current instructions for any permitted self-reporting. Avoid creating repeated duplicate entries while a correction is pending. Neither a support ticket nor a provider's assurance replaces the need to verify the final record before making renewal attestations.
Leave time and retain independent evidence
Complete planned education early enough to identify reporting problems before the renewal deadline. Reporting speed varies, and there is no safe universal promise of instant posting or immediate acceptance. If the deadline is close, consult the board's current renewal instructions and seek prompt guidance about the unresolved record rather than assuming a pending submission preserves eligibility.
Keep certificates in a personal folder independent of both the course provider and CE Broker. Add receipts, correction correspondence, and a dated transcript snapshot when useful. These materials help reconstruct what happened if an entry changes or an audit asks for evidence. A reporting service simplifies administration, but it does not transfer your responsibility for truthful renewal statements and adequate records.
